Update 11-30-08

Update 11-30-08
The move date has been bumped back slightly again; plans are now to be out of this house sometime *BY OR BEFORE* December 31, 2008!!!

I've been asked to start packing right now (as in TODAY!), so I'll be losing the use of my beam cross-sectional analyser (a rather large piece of test equipment I use for characterising the beams of LEDs & flashlights) right away.

Update 11-26-08

Update 11-26-08
Although some packing has begun to take place in the garage already, *SERIOUS* packing is to commence in 10 to 14 days. It is not yet known when I'll lose the use of this computer, or how long it will be before I have internet access at the new location in Washington.

Update 11-16-08

Update 11-16-08

THE END OF THE LED
MUSEUM IS *VERY* NEAR!!!

My website is to go mainly archival-only in approximately two more weeks.
Although no new flashlights or other products can be submitted for analysis & evaluation (other than those which are "loaners" and the sender pays postage to have them returned), loose 3mm and 5mm LEDs plus small lasers can be tested for my website.

Update 11-14-08

Update 11-14-08
I have been allowed to keep several flashlights and all of my R/C aircraft; the R/C aircraft I'm disposing of is being disposed of voluntarily as it has never flown well - at all actually.

Update 11-12-08

Update 11-12-08
As you may have already read here, I'll be moving yet again (this will be the fifth place I've had since putting my LED Museum website up) sometime in late-February 2009; I don't yet have the new address.

Once again, it isn't because of a tragedy or a missed HUD appointment; it's because my stepmother (whom I currently live with primarily due to financial reasons) wants to move to the Federal Way / Tukwila WA. USA area (~40 miles SE of Seattle) to be close to her sister, who is dying.

The duration of our stay is expected to be ~1 year, then it's probably back to Sacramento CA. USA.
My previous "Moving News" web page is right here; another page was created because the last one was simply getting too big for its britches.

I also used a Global Search and Destro...er...uh...REPLACE to change the address on the 1,954 web pages that make up my website; I changed them to a link that points to a single web page because if I didn't, I'd have to go through all of this rigamarole again in early-2010.

I will have to leave behind *MANY MORE* lights than was previously expected as well.

However, I will be keeping at least several; among them, the Arc LS prototype, the royal blue Arc LS, and a fair percentage of SureFire products. I also intend to keep at least some of my lasers: all Blu-ray (violet-emitting) lasers, at least one blue DPSS laser (probably this one), at least several green DPSS lasers, both yellow DPSS lasers, and several red lasers.

IS THE END OF THE LED
MUSEUM NEAR
(again?)

No, this is not a joke.
My website may be forced to go mainly archival in several months; new evaluations will be much fewer and farther apart. However, I *WILL* continue testing new LEDs, and intend to keep the Museum itself active.

Update 11-10-08

Update 11-10-08
The ETA for my move to somewhere in the Federal Way / Tukwila area (near Seattle WA. USA) is sometime during January or February 2009 - probably late-February.
I will have to leave behind *MANY MORE* lights than was previously expected too.

Update 11-09-08

Update 11-09-08
I *MAY* be moving back to Seattle WA. USA for approximately one year in the very near future; it is not yet known exactly *WHEN* this move will take place.
This is so that my stepmother (whom I live with primarily for financial reasons) can be near her ill sister who may not live all that much longer.

Update Election Day ( 11-04-08)

Update 11-04-08
Several days ago, I had to put my much beloved Sonar Blu-ray Laser up for sale to raise some emergency $$$; but nobody has taken the bate as of yet. I placed an advertisement on Craigslist, and also advertised it for sale on a couple of flashlight fora (the correct pluralisation of "forum").

Update 10-23-08

Update 10-23-08
Looks like I'll end up losing approximately (at least) 70% of my flashlights and other products designed to emit light come January 2009.
I'll be keeping a few of the AA and AAA cell lights (like my beloved Arc LS prototype, my Arc LS with royal blue LED (the two lights share the same web page), and a number of variants of the Arc AAA flashlights.

Update 10-19-08

Update 10-19-08
The "" icon on my website is to designate products which I was forced to dispose of beginning on 10-18-08. This means I will no longer have the product available for future analyses and comparisons. At this point, virtually all lights that use "D", "C", "AA", and "AAA" cells would become disposed of.

Update 10-18-08

Update 10-18-08
I've been forced to start packing already, as our move is tentatively scheduled to take place in January 2009.

I've also been asked to reduce the amount of my possessions by approximately 30%, so I'll definitely be losing some of what I wish I hadn't.

Update 10-09-08

Update 10-09-08
I've been told that we'll be "on the move" again as soon as 01-03-09.
Where, I do not yet know; but it will likely be in this general neighbourhood.

Update 09-23-08

Update 09-23-08
At the new home, a minor pain in the toliet muscle exists for basic navigation:

This stool is on the floor in the hallway between my sister's and my rooms and the rest of the house. It is there to keep the dog out of our rooms; he is elderly and in rather poor health, and would not make it outside in time when he needs to go tee tee (piss) - since this is a rental property, keeping the carpeting in our rooms "pee free" is a rather high priority.

Because I use a cane to get around inside the house, this stool does present a minor but recurring problem for me to get around...but I can live with it.

Update 08-31-08

Update Labour Day eve (08-31-08)
I received a large rechargeable spotlight on Friday, and both of my parents (whom I live with) were rather urinated about my having purchased it because of its size.
This means that I will no longer be able to evaluate large products on my website - they'd get totally pissed if I were to receive another large product after having been told that doing so was a rather severe no-no.

Update 08-26-08

Update 08-26-08
I have now had success in installing my ProMetric beam cross-sectional analyser and the computer that hosts that instrument. The installation is quite large, but I can set the instrument itself up on an "as needed" basis - extreme accuracy in positioning is not super critical for this particular application, so this type of installation is perfectly acceptable.

Update 08-24-08

Update 08-24-08

Here's the view from the window in my room.
As you can see, it's nothing to write home about...O WAIT!!! I'm already home!!! but it does allow me to take spectroscopy of direct sunlight - something I have not been able to do at my last two homes due to how the windows faced in relation to the spectrometer.

O, and I've had TV since Monday 08-18-08.
