Update 07-09-11

Update 07-09-11

Here is yet more evidence that the move is now iminent:

Saw this stuck in the front yard yesterday morning; the leaseholder officially gave the landlord 30 day notice a couple of days ago. So moving soon is not just a probability, it's a certainty now.

Update 07-02-11

Update 07-02-11
The military burial that was originally planned is now off the table; the new plan is to have his body creamated and the ashes given to us. When my stepmother "goes", her body will also be creamated and both of their ashes plus those of the puppy dogs are to be deposited near Puget Sound (in western Washington state USA) by my stepsister.

Update 07-01-11

Update 07-01-11
My father left this mortal coil at 12:25am PDT today (07-01-11).

Toward the end, he had a temperature of 106°F (41.1°C) that was apparently caused directly by the cancer; and a body temperature that high is usually deadly -- that may very well be what actually terminated his life.

He will receive a military burial at no cost to us, but we still have to find the money for the coffin and other miscellaneous funerary expenses.

The memorial website I made for him is at http://ledmuseum.candlepower.us/33/dad.htm

Update 06-30-11

Update 06-30-11
I went to see my father in the hospital yesterday, and the first thing I noted is that he has so many lines, tubes, and hoses coming out him that he looks like a Borg from Star Trek!!! He's being pumped full of drugs to keep his blood pressure up, and he's breathing a 70% O2/air mixture via a ventilator. Things are not looking good here folks!!!

The only other significant update I have for you today is that the move is tentatively scheduled to occur sometime in August.

Update 06-26-11

Update 06-26-11
Here is some evidence that packing has now begun...note the two U-Haul boxes, the newspaper (for packing material), and the quintessential roll of packing tape in a dispenser.

I had said quite a number of years ago that I'd hoped to never see another U-Haul box, but here we go again.

The LED Museum is moving SOON now!!!

Update 06-19-11
Packing has now commenced -- this means moving is iminent. It is not yet known exactly *WHERE*, but it will be within 5 to 10 miles (south King County to north Pierce County Washington USA).

The primary reason is that my father is now gravely ill (to put it politely, he's "circling the drain") and in a nursing home -- his income will soon be lost and we will no longer have the $$$ to live at this house.

I'll have use of this computer until within a day or two of the move; however I could be without internet access of any type for a month or more after the move...although this lengthy interval is not likely, the chances of this being the case are not mathematically zero.

Update 02-19-11

Update 02-19-11
The move that was supposed to take place this month has not yet materialised; however, I may still have to "pack my bags" (and everything else for that matter) on fairly short notice at any time now.

Update 08-02-10

Update 08-02-10
Looks like we'll be signing a six month lease here; this puts the move date at February 2011.

Update 04-16-10

Update 04-16-10
My father has had a stroke -- well actually, a whole bunch of little strokes.

For this reason (he cannot go up the stairs to use the shower!), we're looking for an emergency 1-story house; moving could take place on ***VERY*** short notice now.

Update 02-28-10

Update 02-28-10

I've been informed that packing is to begin in less than one week; an intracity move is expected to take place sometime in April.

I know it's only a short distance, but "moving" is "moving" -- what a pain in the toliet muscle.

I will be without internet access for at least several days; but possibly close to a month. That one month value is not super likely, but the probability of that occurring is not mathematically zero.

Update 12-19-09

Update 12-19-09
I've been told that my computers ***MAY*** be taken away from me by my parents (whom I live with for primarily financial reasons) - apparently they think I'm piddling away too much of my time on my website.

My sister told me this today while my parents were gone.

If this occurs, there will be a suspension of updates to my website for an as-of-yet unknown period.

Update 06-29-09

Update 06-29-09
I've been asked to pare down my belongings *AGAIN* prior to our move in February 2010.

Update 05-28-09

Update 05-28-09
I'll be moving again sometime in February 2010.
It isn't going to be very far, but "moving" is "moving" - what a pain in the toliet muscle.

Update 04-09-09

Update 04-09-09
My father was royally urinated (pissed) when UPS delivered a small package yesterday morning. He says that it was just "more garbage to fill up your room" - yet it was originally intended as a birthday present for him. Happy birthday dad.
